Eurona –
The great game held no interest to the goddess Eurona. Instead she wandered the planet, fascinated by the wonders of nature. By far her favorites were the beautiful virgin forests where she would spend most of her time, communing with the creatures that lived there. She was pressured though by her fellow gods to create a titan of her own. After a while she crafted Gaia, using the very essence of the planet itself, the lifestream. The two would prefer to create areas of natural wonder and would do their best to avoid taking part in the great game and fighting other titans where they could. Eurona's absences from the court of the gods became longer as she preferred the company of Gaia.
Destruction of War –
But peace was not to last. As time passed the other titans clashed over being used as fighting pawns of the gods, in a bid for freedom. Eventually, tensions erupted into the War of Heaven, a devastating conflict that would reshape the heavens and the earth. When war broke out, Gaia initially ignored the calls of her fellow Titans. She did not hate her life as they did and she had a close affinity to Eurona. She knew the Goddess would not allow anything to happen to the world they had created together.
But that would change. After a particular bloody battle between Titans and armies of the Gods new mortal creatures, huge swathes of forest were destroyed. Smoke from devastating fires circled high into the air. When Gaia came across the shattered remains and saw all the dead creatures she was furious. At that moment her grief was so strong she knew hate for the first time. She did not wait to talk to Eurona, she marched away from the smoking ruins of forest to find her fellow titans.
Gaia's Defeat -
Eurona found herself torn. Her loyalty to Gaia and their shared connection to nature made it difficult to raise arms against the titans. She was repelled by the war’s growing violence, unable to choose between her allies among the gods and her devotion to Gaia and hers vision. Ultimately, Eurona was drawn into the conflict when she realized that if the gods were destroyed, so too would be the forests, mountains, and oceans over which she watched. She fought reluctantly, doing her best to protect the lands and creatures caught in the titanic struggle.
During the final days of the war, Gaia confronted Eurona on a battlefield draped in shadow and ruin. They did not wish to fight each other, but the conflict left them little choice. In a fierce yet sorrowful clash, Gaia was ultimately defeated by Eurona, who fought with a blend of desperation and sorrow, knowing that each blow against Gaia was an assault against the planet itself. Mortally wounded, Gaia withdrew into the world’s depths, her essence blending into the rocks, soil, and roots of the Great Forest. As she faded, she gave Eurona a final message: a plea to protect the natural world they both loved, a legacy to be guarded even in her absence.
Birth of the Forest –
This loss devastated Eurona. Overcome by guilt, she withdrew from the remaining battles and took refuge in the Great Forest, now Gaia’s final resting place. She poured her own essence into the land, using her divine power to sustain the forest in Gaia’s memory. The Great Forest became a realm infused with both the titan’s enduring strength and the goddess’s nurturing presence—a place of deep magic and vitality, where Gaia’s spirit was always near, though unseen.
As her influence took root, many races emerged from this enchanted land: Centaurs, Dryads, and towering Treemen, each race embodying an aspect of the forest’s unique magic and the goddess’s essence. Unlike the flora and fauna of other lands, these beings possessed intelligence, a deep connection to the forest, and a fierce drive to protect it.
Growth -
Word of the Great Forest’s power spread quickly, drawing settlers and wanderers alike. However, those who dared to exploit its resources soon learned that taking wood or game from these sacred grounds came at a cost. The dwellers of the forest defended their territory without hesitation, seeing the cutting of trees or intrusion into their lands as an affront to the very spirit of the forest. The dark canopy and dense undergrowth provided an unwelcoming atmosphere, and any who ventured beneath the trees found themselves haunted by unseen eyes and a sense of hostility that thickened the air.
Arrival of the Elves –
While travel within the forest was perilous, it did not stop other races from attempting to pass through or settle nearby. Hostilities flared, as confrontations between forest natives and outsiders were often fierce and unrelenting. But there was one exception: when the Elves arrived, drawn by the forest’s mystical allure, they found a kinship with the forest and settled within its bounds. Sensitive to the land and respectful of the forest’s inhabitants, the elves carefully avoided disputed territories. Yet, they were not left unchallenged; the centaurs, treemen, and dryads viewed them with suspicion and attacked them often, testing their resolve.
The elves, however, were swift, skilled, and disciplined. They repelled each attack and, over time, their resilience and respect for the forest earned them an uneasy truce with the forest’s native races. Seeing the elves’ strength and unwilling to risk an assault on their own lands, the other factions eventually ceased their raids, leaving the elves to live in relative peace. The elves severed ties with their former civilization, choosing to build a new life under the watchful boughs of the Great Forest, entrusting their future to its ancient ways.
Untiy –
With the gods returning to the world, Eurona felt her own essence resonating with the forest’s call. Knowing the danger of exposing herself to the titans again, she concealed her identity, appearing only as the Forest Spirit, a mysterious, benevolent force that guided the forest’s creatures. Though she kept her divine powers in check, Eurona could not bear the discord that lingered in the forest. The endless skirmishes among her creations and the struggles with outsiders pained her deeply, and she knew she had to act.
Thus, Eurona created the Glade Watchers, an enigmatic order devoted to her will, each of them blessed with heightened senses, agility, and the ability to command nature itself. These watchers were sent to each faction within the forest to deliver a message from the Forest Spirit, urging unity and harmony in her name. Some listened, recognizing the divinity in her call, but others, stubborn and proud, resisted her influence, vowing to follow no ruler but their own. Those who pledged their loyalty to the Forest Spirit came together for the first time in history, forming an alliance guided by the wisdom and power of the Rangers.
The others, however, bristled at the idea of bowing to a single leader, even a spirit as powerful as Eurona. Realizing that a united force under the Forest Spirit could destroy them one by one, these rebel factions reluctantly joined forces, sparking a conflict that would become known as The War of the Wood. For over a century, battles raged beneath the ancient trees, and the forest itself became a battleground of clashing ideals and bloodshed. Ultimately, with the aid of the Forest Spirit and the cunning strategies of the elves, the loyalists prevailed. The rebel forces were driven out, and the forest was finally free of internal strife.
Council of Nature -
In the aftermath of the war, to ensure lasting peace, Eurona established the Council of Nature, a governing body made up of representatives from each of the forest’s races. From this council, rules were formed to promote harmony among the factions and to maintain the sanctity of the Great Forest. Eurona, still cautious of expending too much power and drawing the titans’ attention, retreated into the shadows, trusting the council to keep peace. Her Glade Watchers continued to watch over the forest, intervening only when necessary, and the council worked tirelessly to resolve disputes swiftly, upholding the fragile unity forged by the Forest Spirit.
Defending the Realm –
Generations have since passed, and while the factions occasionally clash, these conflicts are brief and are quickly quelled by the council. Old feuds have faded, replaced by a wary respect that binds each faction to the others, though political maneuvering remains a constant as each race seeks to improve its influence and standing. The Council of Nature has proven a wise and stabilizing force, as its members champion unity and respect for the forest above all else.
Now, however, there are murmurs of a new threat: the Titans have begun to stir from their ancient slumber, including Gaia. Whether they are aware that Eurona herself lives within the Great Forest, concealed as the Forest Spirit, is yet unknown. The reawakened Gaia is though, but she sees what her creator has done as the Forest Spirit and approves, there is tension between the two but they are mending their relationship slowly.
But one thing is clear—if they or any other forces dare to challenge the forest again, they will face the united might of the forest’s inhabitants. Rangers, elves, treemen, centaurs, and dryads alike will stand together to defend the land that binds them, ready to call upon the spirit of Eurona herself or the might of Gaia should the need arise.
Regular
Forest Regular
The enigmatic Glade Watchers are the stock troop choice for the Forest faction at Regular level and are all-rounders in attack and defence. The Fairy Colony has a large size score and the swarm ability making them very annoying to take out. They also have a resistance to magic. Woodland Elves are archers that give you the option to attack from range. Druids give you access to the blessings of Eurona which lets you boost your own side or make things for your opponent more difficult. Satyrs can use their music to stop opponents attacking them, potentially costing your opponent their attack for the turn.
Veterans
Veterans
For Veterans the Centaurs are your best close combat attacking option, being able to use their Charge ability to get an extra dice when attacking. Branch Weavers have the valuable Magic ability, giving you access to the Forest magic deck and being able to cast spells in the Magic phase. Dryads have a higher defence but they also have Ambush which will allow them to attack on your opponents turn if they are revealed then. Then there is the Unicorn with its Killing Blow ability which means it always has a chance of winning any combat whether in attack or defence.

Or you could take the other Hero option of Prince Ilyadan who can use his Charge ability on the attack and gives a Bonus to any other Stag Riders. For Champions you can take Driss Valestalker who is a Woodland Elf with a high attack and range score, letting you fire ranged attacks on your opponent and give any other Woodland Elves a bonus. Gnoll is a brutal close combat option with high statistics and finally Thunderhoof who is great on attack with his Charge ability and also giving a bonus to any other Centaurs on the battlefield. Reinforcements include the Legend card of the Forest Spirit, no slouch in combat but a devastating spell caster.
