A Tale of Tragedy –
The Angels of Elysium are paragons of unwavering devotion, bound in service to Genova, the goddess who led them to victory against the Titans and forged the celestial order. For eons, their faith has been their strength, their hierarchy unbroken, and their hearts united in purpose. But this perfection was not without cracks, hidden in the fabric of legend—a single Angel, consumed by grief and rage, who dared to question the unquestionable. His story was struck from the annals of Angelic history, but it endures in whispers: the story of the Fallen.
Seeking Answers –
The legend begins in the aftermath of a brutal invasion from the Portal Realms, a chaotic dimension filled with horrors beyond mortal comprehension. An angelic city was left in ruins, its streets littered with the lifeless forms of Angels and their kin. Among the fallen were the partner and child of a warrior angel whos name is now forgotten. Stricken by anguish, he sought solace and understanding, journeying alone to the gates of Genova.
For days, he knelt in silent prayer beneath the unblinking gaze of the Guardians, angelic sentinels tasked with protecting the goddess’s domain. His devotion and grief stirred the attention of the entire angelic host, who watched in stunned silence as, for the first time since Genova withdrew from the world after the War in Heaven, the great gates opened, just a crack. The Angel got up and stepped into the radiant sanctum of his goddess, his face awash with hope.
What transpired within is shrouded in mystery. When he emerged, his once-radiant countenance was marred by despair and anger, his wings darkened as if touched by shadow. Before the assembled Angels, he committed an act of heresy: he denounced Genova. He called her a fraud, declared her vision a lie, and accused her of abandoning her creations to needless suffering. His words struck like thunderclaps through the angelic host, who looked on in horror as he tore the insignia of his faith from his armor and cast it aside.
Taking flight, he left Elysium, vowing to expose the lies of the gods and to exact vengeance for all that had been taken from him. The Angels, reeling from this betrayal, sought to erase all trace of him from their records, referring to him only as the Fallen. Yet, his heresy ignited a spark in others. A small number of Angels, disillusioned by the silence of their goddess, chose to follow him into exile. Their names, too, were erased, their loyalty branded as treason.
Decent -
At first, the Fallen and his followers sought to use their newfound freedom for good. They traveled the mortal world, aiding the oppressed, protecting the weak, and challenging the tyranny of monsters and warlords. Yet, with every act of heroism, the Fallen grew more bitter. Wherever he turned, he saw greed, corruption, and cruelty. The mortals were no better than the gods, their hearts darkened by selfishness. The world, he realized, was broken beyond repair.
Consumed by anger and despair, the Fallen abandoned his quest for justice and turned his sights to vengeance. He led his followers to ancient battlefields where the gods and Titans had once clashed, searching for relics of their power. In the ruins of a forgotten city, he uncovered a dark artifact: the Amulet of Thalaris, a relic imbued with the essence of a fallen god who had been betrayed and cast down by their peers. When he donned the amulet, forbidden knowledge flooded his mind, revealing the callous truths of divine schemes and the insignificance of mortal lives. The revelation shattered what remained of his sanity, leaving only a seething hatred for all creation.
Rise of the Fallen -
With his followers now bound to his cause by their shared disillusionment and the power of the amulet, the Fallen began to gather outcasts and pariahs from across the world. His charisma and knowledge made him irresistible to those who had suffered, and his ranks swelled with an unlikely coalition: marauding human tribes, cruel dryads banished from their groves, mutant ogres rejected by their kin, and other creatures deemed unworthy or dangerous by their societies. To them, the Fallen was a savior—a being who understood their pain and offered them a purpose.
His journey led him to the Pit, the infernal realm of demons, where he walked unopposed through the infernal legions. The demons, awed by his power, parted before him as he entered the throne room of the Cthulhu. For weeks, the two titans of defiance spoke, exchanging truths and forging an unholy understanding. When the time came to leave, Cthulhu's second-in-command, Sarroth Khan, challenged the Fallen. The battle was brief but brutal; Sarroth’s soul was claimed by the Fallen, and the demon followed him from the Pit as a bound servant, his loyalty ensured by the Fallen’s dark will.
The Traitor –
Kalloth was a renegade dragon who had led the attempted coup of the Black dragons, jailed in the darkest of the vaults. This normally impenetrable location was easily breached by the Fallen with his god like powers. After releasing the Dragons most dangerous prisoner Kalloth immediately sought to slay the Fallen but was instead shattered, both physically and mentally. Humbled and broken, Kalloth became the Fallen’s personal guardian, his immense strength and fiery breath turned to the service of his new master.
Ruins of First Creation –
Deep in the desolate wastes, the Fallen discovers an ancient city predating even the gods and titans, its crumbling towers and shattered temples radiating an otherworldly presence. Legends whisper that this was the First Creation, the work of a primordial being who shaped existence before the current pantheon seized power. As the Fallen explores its depths, he encounters a guardian spirit bound to the ruins, a luminous entity that speaks of harmony and balance long forgotten. The spirit offers the Fallen a choice: to learn the truths of creation and seek a path of redemption, or to leave the ruins and continue his destructive quest. Yet, the amulet’s influence clouds his mind, twisting the spirit’s words into perceived manipulation. Enraged, the Fallen destroys the guardian and the ruins, obliterating priceless knowledge in his quest for vengeance, but absorbing its power into his own. This act cements his descent and removes a potential alternative to the chaos he seeks to unleash.
Of Titans –
In his relentless pursuit of relics to strengthen his cause, the Fallen disturbs the slumber of an ancient Titan buried beneath the mountains, named Orgon, once the Vanguard of Destruction during the War of Heaven. Orgon rises with a roar that shakes the heavens, seeking vengeance against the gods who imprisoned him. Initially, the Fallen believes he has found a kindred spirit, but Orgon’s disdain for all life becomes apparent as he begins to lay waste to mortal lands indiscriminately. When the Titan refuses to submit to the Fallen’s authority, their confrontation escalates into an earth-shattering battle. In a grueling fight, the Fallen triumphs, using the power of the amulet to shatter Orgon’s form and absorb a fraction of the Titan’s essence. Yet, the devastation left in their wake serves as a grim reminder that power unchecked—whether godly, mortal, or titan—is as destructive as the chains that once bound it.
Prophecy -
In a ruined cathedral devoted to a long-forgotten deity, the Fallen encountered a blind oracle whose voice carries the weight of eternity. She speaks of a prophecy etched into the fabric of existence: the Fallen’s crusade will culminate in a cataclysmic event, the outcome of which hinges on a singular truth. The world will either be freed from the gods’ dominion, ushering in an age of mortal self-determination, or it will be obliterated, leaving only ash and silence. The oracle’s words ripple through the Fallen’s followers, sowing seeds of doubt among those who fear the destruction he may bring. Meanwhile, his enemies seize on the prophecy, using it to galvanize their forces and brand him not as a liberator but as a harbinger of annihilation. Though the Fallen dismisses the oracle’s warnings as another ploy by the gods, the weight of the prophecy begins to haunt him, fueling his obsession to control the outcome—even as it threatens to spiral beyond his grasp.
The Crusade –
Now, the Fallen wages a crusade against the gods, the titans, and all who would perpetuate the cycles of cruelty and control. His armies march under a banner of defiance, their loyalty to him absolute. To his followers, he is a messiah, a savior who will overthrow the tyrants of creation. To his enemies, he is a madman, a heretic whose thirst for vengeance could unmake the world.
As the Fallen’s power grows, the Angels and their allies watch with dread. For though his path is one of darkness and destruction, it is driven by a terrible truth: the gods are not the saviors they claim to be, and the Fallen’s cause, twisted though it may be, is born of a pain that echoes in the hearts of all who have ever suffered.
Regular
Fallen Regular
The mix of creatures and choices at Regular level is quite stark. The humans that call themselves the Abandoned are the all-round average choice. You can instead though go for Sets Forgotten, Aegyptus people who have the Scout ability to help you reveal hidden cards. Renegade Smiths are Dwarfs that you can use to boost cards around it with the Forge ability. Dark Elves are deadly archers that let you use ranged attacks. The Risen are Undead that although weak have a large size score and the Mob ability, meaning the will get a lot of dice to throw in combat.
Veterans
Veterans
For Veterans the Blood Wolf is a very aggressive attacking option, but it does have Bloodlust which means you can easily lose control. A much more balanced combat option is the War Raiders who can cover both attacking and defensive duties. The Exiled Dryads may lack the statistics of the other two, but they have a small magic resistance and Ambush to let you surprise attack your opponent on their turn if they get too close. Or if you take a Warlock, you get access to the Fallen Magic deck and can cast spells in the Magic Phase.
Elite
Elite -
Ogre Mutants are your aggressive attack option at Elite tier. They have a high attack and size score to help them in any close combat attack, but they are a bit vulnerable in defence. Dark Angels are a more defensive option, but they are no slouch in attack either and they have Fly to help them navigate the battlefield. Knights of Chaos on the other hand give you the Charge ability which allows you to roll an extra dice when on the attack.
Titan & Legend & Heroes & Champions
Charachters
At Hero level Kain is an all-rounder in combat and has Fly but also gives a bonus to Dark Angels making them all very deadly when paired together. Or Sarroth Khan is the other option a large demon that has is better statistically but does suffer from the Demon special rule meaning he might not be able to do what you want him to do in any given turn. Champion choices are Morgoth the Fireblood, a stronger Knight of Chaos who gives them a bonus if you have them and Charge to make him more dangerous in attack. Saithal Talonclaw is a magic user that is one of your best spellcasters and gives any Dark Elves a bonus. Finally, The Watcher is a sea monster that has great statistics including size for close combat. Your Legend card is the Fallen himself, one of the best cards in the game. An amazing close combat fighter but can also cast magic spells. At Titan level you have Kalloth the Traitor, a massive Black Dragon that can crush all it comes up against.
