Gorjiro –

Before the arrival of the gods, the temperate jungles of the world teemed with untamed life. Towering dinosaurs ruled as apex predators, hunting their herbivorous kin while the turning of the seasons dictated the rhythm of their existence. Nature’s raw, unyielding power reigned supreme—until the god Gorjiro cast his gaze upon the primal wilderness.

Gorjiro, an ambitious and underestimated deity, was captivated by the savage might of the dinosaurs. While his divine peers forged mighty titans as champions of their glory, Gorjiro’s efforts to create a titan faltered. Undeterred, he sought a different path. Through his early experiments, he shaped the lizardmen, a sentient but primitive race imbued with reptilian traits. These beings, though clever, were far from the mighty creatures Gorjiro envisioned.

The other gods mocked his creations, deriding their small size, meager strength, and limited intellect. Gorjiro, humiliated by their ridicule, resolved to prove his worth. Yet he lacked the divine finesse to rival his peers in crafting a true titan. In his desperation, he performed an act that defied all reason and shattered divine taboos: Gorjiro fused his very essence with one of the jungle’s colossal dinosaurs.

The result was monstrous. The god-titan born from the fusion was a being of unthinkable size and ferocity. Empowered by Gorjiro’s divine might, it laid waste to all before it, obliterating the titans sent by the other gods to stop its rampage. But the fusion came at a cost—Gorjiro’s mind was consumed, leaving behind only a primal, bestial hunger.

Horrified by what Gorjiro had become, the gods united against their errant brother. Though they could not match his raw power, they devised a cunning plan. Luring the god-titan to a lush jungle peninsula, they combined their divine might to sever the land from the continent, casting it adrift into the ocean. Saturated with divine magic, the island became an isolated realm, forever wandering the seas. Gorjiro’s wrathful roars echoed across the waters as he raged at the gods who had betrayed him.

The Drifting Isle –

Over the ages, the severed landmass drifted aimlessly across the ocean, defying tides and currents. Stories of the “Lost World” spread among sailors and explorers, describing a tropical jungle teeming with colossal beasts and hostile terrain. Those few who returned from the island spoke of an ecosystem where even the skies were dangerous, ruled by winged predators, and the ground trembled beneath the footfalls of titanic creatures. The lizardmen, Gorjiro’s first creations, had survived, eking out a precarious existence in this savage land.

Despite their intelligence, the lizardmen were far from the island’s dominant species. The dinosaurs, unchallenged in strength and ferocity, hunted them as readily as they did any other prey. The lizardmen fought back, developing primitive tools and strategies, but their victories were hard-won, and many settlements fell to the endless onslaught of predatory beasts.

The Horned Ones -

The balance of power shifted when an extraordinary event occurred. One fateful spawning season produced a single survivor: a weak, sickly hatchling born with a prominent horn on its snout. In a world where the weak were seldom spared, the lizardmen felt an inexplicable compulsion to protect this fragile creature. It soon became clear why. The horned hatchling possessed unparalleled intellect, a quantum leap in the evolution of their species.

Guided by the horned one’s innovations, the lizardmen began to rise. They learned to domesticate smaller, less aggressive dinosaurs, turning them into beasts of burden and war. They built fortified settlements, crafted more advanced weapons, and developed a rudimentary but effective society. Over time, the horned ones became revered as spiritual leaders, engineers, and strategists, always leading their people to new heights of survival and dominance.

Only one horned one exists at any given time. When a horned one nears the end of its life, a new one is born, signaling the continuation of their lineage. Each horned one is believed to carry a fragment of Gorjiro’s original essence, granting them their unmatched intelligence and connection to the island’s mysteries.

Temple of Ancients -

The Temple of the Ancients is the most iconic structure on the Lost World, a towering ziggurat that dominates the jungle skyline. Its sheer size and intricate carvings hint at the advanced civilization that once thrived here, predating even the arrival of the gods. Though partially overgrown by vines and moss, its grandeur remains intact—a silent testament to the mysteries of the past. The temple is as much a labyrinth as a fortress, its secrets protected by ancient mechanisms and formidable guardians.

The summit of the temple now serves as the residence of the current horned one. This position reflects not only their authority but also their direct connection to the temple’s spiritual power. From this vantage point, the horned one can see across the entire island, using the view to strategize and lead their people.

The horned one spends much of their time studying the temple’s carvings and unlocking its ancient mechanisms. They believe the temple holds the key to awakening Gorjiro and understanding the divine nature of their people.

Lizardman Society –

The lizardmen of the Lost World maintain a structured yet adaptable society, shaped by their harsh environment and reliance on communal survival. At the top of their hierarchy is the Horned One, a singular, semi-divine figure revered as both a spiritual leader and a strategist, guiding their people with unparalleled intellect. Below the Horned One are the Elder Scales, a council of seasoned warriors, mystics, and hunters who oversee the day-to-day governance of settlements and ensure traditions are upheld. The Beastmasters form the backbone of their society, taming dinosaurs, gathering food, and defending their villages from threats. Supporting them are the Scalehands, laborers and artisans who craft tools, weapons, and fortifications, often utilizing resources like dinosaur bones and jungle plants. At the foundation are the Hatchlings, young lizardmen who are raised communally, taught survival skills, and tested through rites of passage to determine their future roles within the tribe. Despite these roles, lizardman society is fluid, with individuals able to rise in rank through acts of bravery, wisdom, or innovation, ensuring their collective strength remains dynamic and responsive to the island’s challenges.

Dinosaurs –

The lizardmen’s armies are a fearsome blend of primal strength and strategic ingenuity, relying heavily on domesticated dinosaurs to dominate the battlefield. Each dinosaur serves a specialized role, with smaller, nimble raptors acting as skirmishers, darting through enemy lines with precision and speed. Larger herbivores, such as armored triceratops, are outfitted with makeshift plating and carry siege equipment or act as living battering rams to breach fortifications. Towering carnivores like tyrannosaurs  serve as unstoppable shock troops, their mere presence sowing terror among enemy ranks. Flying dinosaurs, such as pterodactyls, provide aerial support, scouting out the enemy formations and reporting back to the Lizardman commanders. These beasts are guided and controlled by skilled Beastmasters, who share a deep bond with their mounts, using clicks, whistles, and hand signals to direct them in battle. The lizardmen’s integration of dinosaurs into their armies creates a fearsome synergy of brute force and tactical coordination, making them a nearly unstoppable force in their natural jungle terrain.

A Hostile Environment –

Even for the lizardmen, masters of the island, large swathes of the jungle remain treacherous and unforgiving. The lush canopy conceals predators that even the most skilled hunters struggle to evade—massive carnivorous dinosaurs roam freely, some so ancient and powerful they have resisted domestication entirely. Beyond the threat of these beasts, the jungle itself poses constant danger: venomous plants drip with toxins, while quicksand pits and unstable terrain can trap the unwary. Nightfall brings a new host of perils, as glowing eyes emerge from the shadows, and the air fills with the haunting cries of nocturnal hunters. In some regions, ancient ruins hold lingering magical wards that disorient or harm those who trespass, regardless of their intent. Even the lizardmen avoid the Bleak Marsh, a region of the jungle where the ground rots underfoot, and strange, half-formed creatures stalk the mist, warped by Gorjiro’s residual energy. For all their resilience, the lizardmen know that survival on the island is a constant struggle, demanding respect and caution even from its most adapted inhabitants.

Cities of Gold -

The Drifting Isle, shrouded in mist and myth, has long captivated the imaginations of adventurers, pirates, and treasure hunters from across the world. Rumors tell of untold riches hidden within its lush jungles, from glittering gemstones and ancient gold to the bones of colossal dinosaurs said to hold immense magical properties. Many believe the Temple of the Ancients harbors artifacts of immense power, perhaps even remnants of the gods’ battles or relics imbued with Gorjiro’s divine essence. Explorers are also lured by the promise of rare and exotic resources, such as herbs with miraculous healing properties or scales tougher than steel. Yet, few who venture to the isle return, as its hostile environment, teeming with deadly predators and cunning lizardmen, proves more dangerous than any treasure is worth. Those who do survive tell conflicting tales—some speak of fleeting glimpses of unimaginable wealth, while others describe harrowing encounters that stripped them of all hope. Still, the allure of the Drifting Isle remains irresistible, drawing the bold and the foolish alike to seek their fortunes, often at the cost of their lives.

Awakening –

In the present age, the lizardmen have become the undisputed masters of the Lost World. They herd into battle atop domesticated dinosaurs, their warriors armed with weapons forged from mined metals and scales of their prehistoric prey. Yet, whispers echo through their jungles—whispers that the current horned one has uncovered an ancient, forbidden secret.

Deep within the heart of the island lies Gorjiro himself, slumbering beneath layers of rock and overgrown jungle. The horned one believes that by awakening their progenitor, the lizardmen can reclaim their divine heritage and unleash Gorjiro upon the world. But the horned one’s ambitions are not without risk. The god-titan’s fury remains as wild and uncontrollable as ever, and its awakening could spell doom not only for the island but for all who stand in its path

Regular

Lost World Regular

The Lizardmen are your all-round base choice for the Lost World at Regular tier.  Just as good in attack and defence.  Piranhas have a very large size score and the Swarm ability making them very difficult to hit and quite an annoyance for your opponent.  Stingers are small lizards who use blowpipes to attack from range.  Pterodactyls fly through the air to help you use the Scout ability, revealing your opponents hidden cards.  Raptors are very aggressive and have the Ambush ability, so if your opponent comes near you can reveal them and attack on your opponents turn!  But be careful as they are vulnerable when attacked themselves.

Veterans

Veterans

At Veteran level, The Temple Sentinels are your all-round close combat unit.  Slightly better in attack but they can handle themselves in defence as well.  The huge Brontosaurus though is much more suited to defence with a high defence and size score making it very hard to take down.  Chameleons are vulnerable but only if you can hit them with their Chameleon ability forcing your opponent to roll before they can attack.  They also have a range of 2 which means they can attack at range.  But the Firebeast has a range of 3 and acts like a mobile war machine, shooting globes of fire at your opponent and not restricted by the normal rules for war machines.

Elite

Elite -

There are some heavy hitters at Elite level.  The Tyrannosaur is a monster in attack, and it has a huge size score to back it up.  The Armoured Triceratops is not quite as big, but it has got a great defence score.  But its Charge ability means it is no slouch in attack either.  The third option is quite different though.  The Mystic have the Magic ability which is your route to being able to use magic spells in the battle.

Titan & Legend & Heroes & Champions

Charachters

For your Hero choice you can take the Spinosaur, a large monster with great attack statistics.  If you are attacking it is going to have a great chance of winning.  Tlaxahuin is a more rounded choice, a lot smaller of course but he has a resistance to magic and gives a bonus to any Temple Sentinels you have in play.  For Champions you can take the Predator, a big close combat specialist who even has Killing Blow which means you will always have a chance of winning any combat.  Venom is a huge snake that while not as good in close combat as the Predator, is not that far behind.  But Venom also has the Poison ability, which can cause havoc in your opponents cards that get too close.  Finally, you can take Grimloq, an allrounder who has the Magic Item ability so you can give him a bonus Magic Item that does not count towards your total of how many you can have on the battlefield at once.  Old Blood is your Legend card.  They can only be drawn as a reinforcement and while quite weak in combat is the best spellcaster for the Lost World.  The Titansaur is the Titan level card, with maximum size and huge statistics for combat it is near unstoppable on the battlefield.
