The Discovery Beneath –

Nestled deep within a labyrinth of swamps, Harrow Fall has always been a place of foreboding. This bleak, mist-shrouded region was scarcely habitable, but it was here that the Von Dracula family seized control, establishing a town atop the only hill that rose above the murky marshes. Under the rule of the Von Draculas, Harrow Fall became a fortress in the mist, its spires looming over the dark swampland like sentinels. But the greatest transformation was yet to come, a dark and terrible secret lay hidden beneath its fog-drenched earth.

Seeking to elevate the family’s fortunes, Constantine Von Dracula embarked on a bold mining venture, convinced that wealth lay buried under the hill. Instead, he uncovered something far more profound. A sprawling network of caves stretched for miles beneath Harrow Fall, with underground rivers that had long fed the town’s wells. These caverns were ancient, their origins unclear, and despite his efforts, Constantine found no precious minerals or resources—only disappointment. But something about the caves called to him, a whisper in the dark that he could not ignore.

Days turned into weeks as Constantine disappeared into the depths, obsessively charting the caverns. His explorations led him to a secret chamber, a shrine of sorts, dominated by a plain stone lectern bearing a mysterious, ancient book. The room was surrounded by ominous stone obelisks inscribed with strange symbols, the language unlike any he had seen. Translating the cryptic text became his obsession, and Harrow Fall began to wither as its ruler neglected his duties, lost in his studies. Eventually, his only son, Ivan, seized power, exiling Constantine to the depths with the very book that had consumed him. No one would see him again.

The Return of the Past –

Under Ivan's stern rule, Harrow Fall began to flourish once more, its dark history quietly buried. But his only son, Vlad, was not content with the shadows of the past. Gifted and curious, Vlad devoured every book in Harrow Fall, and when he stumbled upon his grandfather’s hidden journals, he became entranced by the tales of the secret chamber and the enigmatic book. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Vlad ventured into the forbidden caves, clearing the way to find what Constantine had discovered years before.

In the secret chamber, Vlad was struck by the sight of his grandfather’s skeletal remains, still hunched over the lectern, the mysterious book untouched. When Vlad opened the tome, he was astonished to find that he could understand it perfectly, as though the language had been imprinted on his soul. The book spoke of an ancient race that had once called this world home—beings who had mastered immortality through a concoction known as the Elixir of Life. Consumed by the secrets it held, Vlad dedicated himself to replicating the elixir, gathering rare ingredients and performing forbidden rituals.

The Birth of the Vampire Lord–

At last, Vlad completed his dark alchemy and consumed the potion. That night, he underwent a horrific transformation, awakening to find the Court of Harrow Fall slaughtered, including his own father, Ivan. Vlad was covered in their blood, but had no memory of the massacre. When the guards arrived, he dispatched them with terrifying speed and strength, realizing that he had succeeded—he was immortal. But the price was a terrible thirst, an insatiable hunger for blood that gnawed at his soul.

With his newfound power, Vlad took control of Harrow Fall, turning it into the City of the Night. He blended new elixirs, creating lesser versions of the potion that transformed his friends and family into vampires, but ensured that none could rival his own strength. Thus, the vampire aristocracy was born, ruling over the mortals of Harrow Fall as lords of darkness. Under their rule, the city became a place of eternal night, shrouded in fog and fear, its people little more than cattle to feed the insatiable appetite of their immortal masters.

War of the Endless Night -

The rise of the vampires in Harrow Fall did not go unnoticed. As Vlad Von Dracula and his dark aristocracy tightened their grip on the city, rumors of their eternal night spread like wildfire across the human kingdoms. Merchants, travelers, and fleeing peasants brought tales of a place where the sun never fully rose, where dark-cloaked figures haunted the mist and whispers of blood rituals filled the night air. Outraged and fearful, the neighboring realms gathered their forces, determined to end the vampire menace before it could spread beyond the marshy borders of Harrow Fall.

It was King Aldric of Randor, a seasoned and resolute leader, who first called for a coalition to stand against the vampires. He saw the threat for what it was—an affront to life itself, a plague that would spread unless it was stamped out. Neighboring kingdoms, once divided by old rivalries, reluctantly heeded the call. Under the banner of a holy alliance, armies were raised, each bringing their unique strengths: the heavily armored knights of Bastion, the swift and cunning scouts of Dunport, and the Wizards from across the lands, whose spells could pierce the darkest of shadows. Together, they forged the first Alliance, a beacon of hope against the growing darkness.

Vlad anticipated the human response. He had seen enough of their kind to know they would not stand idle while he built his dark empire. But he did not fear them. To him, they were cattle—creatures of fleeting lifespans who would bow or be broken. He commanded his vampire lords to prepare for war, and in the deepest chambers of Harrow Fall, he began brewing a new elixir, a potion that would grant his soldiers unmatched strength, agility, and resilience. The stage was set for a war unlike any the world had seen.

The Night March –

The first strike came under a moonless sky. Led by Lord Ulrich, one of Vlad's most loyal and ruthless generals, the vampire armies launched a surprise assault on the border town of Brighthaven, the gateway to Harrow Fall. As the humans slept, the vampires moved like shadows, scaling walls and slipping through defenses, their eyes glowing in the dark. When the town's garrison awoke, they were met with chaos—fires burned, and screams echoed as the vampires fed on their victims. By dawn, Brighthaven had fallen, its streets awash with blood, its defenders slaughtered.

The attack sent shockwaves through the human kingdoms. Panic spread as news of the Night March reached the courts. Vlad had not just struck; he had made a statement—no place was safe, and the night belonged to him. The first Alliance responded by rallying their armies, but fear gripped their ranks. The vampires could move unseen, strike without warning, and disappear before reinforcements could arrive. Every village and town near the border fortified its walls, but nothing could stem the tide of terror.

A War of Shadows and Blood –

For months, the war raged on, a series of brutal skirmishes and ambushes. The vampires moved swiftly, their tactics relying on surprise and psychological warfare. They would raid supply lines, burn crops, and leave mutilated bodies as a grim reminder of their presence. The first Alliance struggled to adapt, forced to fight an enemy that could disappear into the mist and strike from any direction. Even the most hardened soldiers could not hide their fear as the shadows closed in each night, knowing that the slightest misstep could bring the fangs of a vampire to their throats.

But the alliance did not falter. Led by King Aldric and his generals, they developed countermeasures—blessed weapons, enchanted torches, and spells to ward off the creatures of the night. The wizards proved invaluable, using their magic to light up the dark, revealing the vampires’ movements and forcing them into pitched battles where their speed could be countered. The alliance slowly pushed forward, retaking ground and driving the vampires back, but every inch of progress was paid for in blood.

The Battle of the Blood Moon–

The war reached its peak at the Battle of the Blood Moon, fought on the marshy plains near the border of Harrow Fall. Vlad, realizing that the human forces were slowly gaining ground, decided to make a stand. He gathered his full might, summoning not just his vampire lords but legions of Castle Guard, Blood Knights, and even all the peasants that were his vassals. It was a gamble—a clash that would decide the fate of Harrow Fall.

The night of the battle was marked by a red moon, casting an eerie glow over the marshes. As the two armies clashed, the sky darkened with storm clouds, and the ground shook with the roar of battle. The vampires fought with a ferocity that seemed almost supernatural, their strength amplified by the elixirs Vlad had perfected. For every vampire that fell, ten more appeared from the shadows, and the allied forces found themselves overwhelmed, their lines breaking under the onslaught.

But the first Alliance did not retreat. They had prepared for this, their mages summoning a lightstorm to burn away the shadows. Under the blinding radiance, the vampires were exposed, their speed and stealth nullified. King Aldric himself led the charge, wielding a holy blade said to be blessed by the gods, cutting through the ranks of the vampires. The battle raged until dawn, with neither side willing to give an inch, but as the first rays of sunlight crested over the horizon, the tide began to turn.

A Cornered Beast -

The defeat at the Battle of the Blood Moon marked a turning point. The alliance, emboldened by their victory, launched a relentless campaign, driving the vampires back to the very gates of Harrow Fall. For months, they laid siege to the city, but the vampires fought with the desperation of cornered beasts, refusing to surrender. Vlad himself appeared on the battlements, his crimson eyes glaring defiantly at the besieging forces, a chilling reminder of the power that still lingered within the city walls.

Yet, just as the alliance prepared to breach the city, the unthinkable happened. Old grudges and mistrust began to resurface among the allied commanders. Arguments broke out over who would rule Harrow Fall if they succeeded, and accusations of betrayal spread like wildfire. The fragile unity that had held the first Alliance together began to fracture. Vlad, ever the cunning strategist, seized the opportunity, sending emissaries to sow discord and lure key leaders away with promises of power. Within weeks, the alliance collapsed, and the armies withdrew, leaving Harrow Fall battered but unbeaten.

The Stirring of the Dark –

Though the war ended, it was not with victory but with a tense stalemate.  Harrow Fall remained a dark citadel, a place where the sun rarely shone, and the night was always near. Both sides retreated to rebuild, setting up watchtowers along the border, ever-vigilant for signs of another invasion.

Vlad’s ambitions had been checked, but not defeated. He returned to his dark experiments, seeking new ways to strengthen his kind, and the whispers of a new elixir began to circulate. The humans, wary and scarred, kept their weapons sharp and their eyes fixed on the misty silhouette of Harrow Fall, knowing that the darkness would rise again.

Now, Harrow Fall stands as a nation of eternal twilight, ruled by a Vampire Lord who harbors dark ambitions. Vlad' grows his power, and whispers speak of and mortals and vampires watch each other across the border, each side waiting for the inevitable conflict to begin anew. For in Harrow Fall, the night never ends, and the thirst for blood is never quenched.

Will the world succumb to the immortal rule of the vampire aristocracy, or will the forces of light rally to banish the darkness once and for all? The story of Harrow Fall is far from over, and the shadow of the Vampire Lord looms ever larger…

Regular

Vampire Regular

The regular options for the Vampire faction start with the Village Mob.  The villagers are not great fighters, but they have numbers so can overwhelm foes with size advantage and the Mob ability to get more dice.  Also with a large size is the Bat Swarm who have the Swarm ability which can make them very difficult to hit.  The Thralls are mortal slaves who are your average all round fighters.  Gargoyles are stone skinned flyers who are also tough to hurt and a good defensive option.  The Newborns are fresh vampires who are very powerful for a regular card, but they suffer from Bloodlost and could end up attacking your own cards as well!

Veterans

Veterans

As for Veterans there is only one non vampire option which are the Castle Guard, they are a great defensive unit and hard to defeat.  The Brood option opens up the magic deck and allows you to cast spells.  Nightstalkers are good allrounders even though they have not got the best size score.  The final option is the Sanguine Hunters, easily the best statistics at this level, but they have Bloodlost as well so can easily be damaging to yourself as well.

Elite

Elite -

The Blood Knights lead the charge at Elite level, with the Charge ability making them most effective when on the attack.  Taking a Vampire Count might not look the best option from statistics, but they have a resilience to magic, and you can give them vampire ability cards which gives them a lot of flexibility.  Or if you just want a scary monster with a lot of power then the Crypt Terror is the choice for you.

Titan & Legend & Heroes & Champions

Charachters

The Hero choices for the Vampires are the Brides of Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster.  The Brides are magic users who can fly as well making them very mobile.  Even if they get caught in combat, they are still pretty tough.  However, Frankenstein's Monster is excellent as a combat option with its high attack, defence, and size.  The mysterious Black Knight is a good attacking Champion and boosts any Blood Knights you have.  Markus is a tough all rounder whereas the other option of Nosferatu is not quite as strong as Markus but instead has the Revive ability which keeps your cards on the battlefield.  The most powerful Vampires though you will need to try and draw as reinforcements.  Vlad von Dracula is a powerful combat specialist that also boosts all other Vampire cards you have.  Whereas the Titan card is a group of the first ever Vampires, the Ancients, who might not be as big as other Titans they will be favourites in almost any match up they are involved in.
